THE STUDIO
The stunning space of our converted coach house is home to our expanding workshop timetable. With its working Clearview 650 woodburning stove ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the Studio is very cosy in winter. In summer months refreshment breaks are taken in our sunny courtyard.
Our hugely experienced tutors will give you a thoroughly enjoyable experience on the day, helping you to build confidence to work alone on future projects.

COURSE ONE
AN INTRODUCTION TO THE ANNIE SLOAN METHOD
The first of two paint technique workshops using Annie Sloan products.
Learn to:
- Colour mix
- Create texture
- 2-colour effect
- Flat and modern finish/wash
- Work with soft wax/lacquer
A half-day, ‘back to basics’ workshop providing the skills necessary to achieve a range of finishes and get the most out of her fabulous Chalk Paint®. Our instructors have been trained by Annie herself, and in just one half-day you will be ready for your own home project.
Workshops consist of up to 6 people and follow-up notes are provided.

The second of two paint technique workshops using Annie Sloan products.
Incorporating Modern Retro and Rustic Styles, learn:
- Custom colour mixing
- Ombre effects
- Gilding
- Stenciling
- Craqueleur
- Image transfer
- Frottage/Wet dressing
A half-day workshop that complements and embellishes basic skills, teaching a wide range of finishes that will ensure you get the most out of Annie’s fabulous Chalk Paint®.
Workshops consist of 6 people maximum and follow-up notes are provided.

Two-Day Portraiture Workshop
This lovely two-day workshop is designed for all levels of ability, including complete beginners. Participants are asked to bring an A4 photographic image of their chosen subject, from which they create a beautiful sepia or charcoal portrait. It’s a unique and exciting process, in easy, well-defined stages.
The course makes clear the principles of traditional observational drawing techniques, and teaches the clever tricks that create an artwork of depth and vitality. A maximum of five places is offered, to ensure everyone attending receives their full share of attention. A convincing, pleasing and completed portrait of your chosen subject is guaranteed, whatever your ability.
All necessary materials are provided and lunch is included.

Vicki – Annie Sloan’s Workshops
Vicki delivers both Part 1 and Part 2 of our Annie Sloan workshops. A teacher by profession, Vicki is passionate about her craft and very experienced in sharing her knowledge in a friendly and informative way.
The Forest Bailiff was one of the first stockists to run Annie’s workshops, meaning Vicki was trained by Annie herself. She presents a well-planned and thoroughly enjoyable learning experience in 2 half-days that will guide you through Annie’s techniques, both methodically and creatively.

A friendly welcome from our team, then on through to the studio to meet your tutor. Delicious refreshments are offered, please let us know if you have any specific requirements or allergies, so we can be prepared.
All materials are included, and protective aprons where necessary will be provided so there are no hidden surprises. We request that you arrive punctually so we can get started promptly.

KIM - PORTRAITURE

KIM – PORTRAITURE
Kim is an Award-winning artist who gained her degree in Fine Arts at Chelsea School of Art. She works with senior pupils in the state sector as well as taking private commissions from her studio, in Wiltshire.
During our two-day workshops Kim draws out hidden talents from her pupils, building confidence and enabling them to complete a portrait they can be extremely proud of. She is very skilled at teaching, and her friendly and approachable nature makes for a thoroughly enjoyable and productive experience.
